Some of Our Story

Lakeview Baptist Church began in 1949 with around 20 people meeting right here in Selmer. In 2015 Pastor Clint Overton became Lakeview's lead pastor after serving in Lakeview's student ministry for almost ten years. Lakeview has a passion for reaching people for Jesus. In 2016 Pastor Clint and staff began to lead Lakeview's Ministries into a more modern approach, a come as you are atmosphere. On any given Sunday, you can expect upbeat music and relevant teaching and preaching. Instead of coming to a building where people are met with guilt, shame, and disapproval, Jesus compels us to be a family that increases His love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness to everyone.
